Tell us something about yourself? We’d like to get to know you.
Hey there! I’m Sarah, a retired standup comedian, Graphic Designer and a working professional Makeup Artist and Permanent Makeup Artist. I’ve been published in numerous high profile publications such as Allure, Elle and Institute Magazine. I was one of the first ‘beauty guru’ pioneers on YouTube when the popularity of makeup videos was a new idea. And, in September 2016, I opened up my own beauty studio in the heart of Glastonbury, Connecticut – a goal I’ve had for as long as I could remember!
When did you discover Dr. Dennis Gross? Share your story.
When I worked at Sephora as a Color Lead (eons ago) inevitably, I’d always find myself in the skincare section because my skin has been an issue for me since I was a teenager. I wish I had the name of the rep for DDG who introduced me to his line because I may need to give them a hug while serenading them with some ugly crying! Haha. You know that Kim K meme where she’s crying? Yup…me.
What’s your #1 beauty tip for healthy skin?
I’m going to totally fan-girl it here, but I gotta say Dr. Dennis Gross Alpha Beta Daily Peels hands down. It’s the cream to my coffee and the icing on the cake. No skincare routine is complete without them!
What made you so interested in beauty and skincare?
For me, my passion was born through necessity. Being a cystic acne sufferer in high school, I had to figure out a way to a). survive high school itself and b). hide my acne! Fortunately, I have always been artistic and have been painting, drawing and designing since I was a kid, so the artistic background has been ever-present. I practiced different ways to conceal my skin using various foundations and concealers, brushes and sponges. Once I felt comfortable enough with my technique, I decided that I would try and test out my skills on others. As it turns out, I was pretty good at it! Then, I began to build up a client list! Fast forward to this very moment: I’m a 32-year-old mom of 5-year-old twins, with the beauty studio I’ve wanted ever since I was 5-years-old, while doing a blog post for one of the most influential skincare professionals in the world. Life is good everybody… Life. Is. Good.

Do you have a favorite Dr. Dennis Gross product? Tell us why!
Can I say all of them? Don’t judge me LOL. Ok ok, if I had to narrow it down I’d say the Alpha Beta Daily Peels (of course) and the Clarifying Sulfur Mask! The Alpha Beta Daily Peels because they were made to integrate seamlessly with my skincare routine and the Clarifying Sulfur Mask because it actually heals the previously erupted pimples. The best way to keep your skin clear of acne is to combine the forces of these two power players! Don’t forget to hydrate the skin too – combining the delicious Clinical Hydration Booster with the Firming Peptide Milk help with that!
Would you call yourself a peel addict?
Whatever word would be more perfect than an ADDICT…yea, that’s yours truly. My skin requires these peels daily to function properly. If I run out of them (it shall never happen again, I have 3 huge boxes in case of a zombie apocalypse) my face makes me suffer for it. I recommend these to anyone. Got skin? You need these peels…the end. Also, buy 3 large boxes…you know…the zombie apocalypse and all. For real though, I also have PCOS (Poly Cystic Ovarian Syndrome) and one of the side effects of it is acne. Truly, the peels have saved my skin and my sanity. Going through countless modalities of treating my acne, these have been a mainstay for me for the past 7 years.
